The RiF010 in Rotterdam will Become Home to Surfers and Water-Lovers

The RiF010 in Rotterdam is a project to make the canals in the area a little more interesting. Instead of simply keeping these areas as regular waterways, the plan is to put some action into the water by creating waves for people to have fun in.

The waves will go through in certain sections of the canal, and will also be done using purified water. At first swimming in the canals here seems quite off-putting, but much effort is being made to ensure clean water for everyone involved, which is not only fun but great for the environment. The canal is intended for everyone from swimmers to surfers, although the latter would certainly gain the most use out of the waves produced by the project, set to be complete in 2015.
