Reusable Milk Bottles

The Straus Family Creamery Sells Dairy Products in Sustainable Containers

With inspiration from a simpler time where one's lifestyle produced far less waste, the Straus Family Creamery opted to distribute its products in reusable milk bottles. Reminiscent of the old-fashioned jars that were delivered to doorsteps over a generation ago, this packaging scheme fosters a sense of nostalgia and new habits of resourcefulness.

In San Francisco, Chin I Lee designed a clear glass carafe with a basic cylindrical form, a wide neck and a clear cap. With the white color of the beverage serving as the backdrop for the company's branding, there is only one small illustration with a logo and a bit of text that mark these containers. The consumer could find plenty of applications for these versatile vessels, in addition to reusing it at the creamery with each week's supply of milk.
