Hertz and Shelby American Brought Back the 'Rent-a-Racer' Program

'Shelby American,' the high-performance vehicle manufacturer, announced a partnership with the car rental service 'Hertz' to launch the 'Rent-a-Racer' program. This program will allow customers to rent a high-performance, custom race car at Hertz locations across the United States. Customers can rent a special edition Shelby GT500-H as well as various other Mustang vehicles, such as the GT and the GT-H.

The automaker will only manufacture 25 Shelby GT-500H car models. Of these 25, 19 of them will feature a black paint job with gold racing stripes in honor of Hertz' colors. Shelby and Hertz put out a trailer video that showcases this eloquent gold-on-black paint job. The other six will feature an Oxford White paint job with gold racing stripes in honor of Shelby American's 60th anniversary.
