The Renault Traffic EV is Powered By Used Batteries

The Renault Traffic is familiar to most people as a diesel van, but not for much longer -- the company unveiled an incredibly prototype delivery van that is a converted electric version of the Renault Traffic.

This vehicle is powered by used batteries plucked out of decommissioned electric vehicles. It was created by Renault in partnership with French startup Carwatt, the Paris City Council, BPI France, a local engineering school and the Bobigny Business Campus.

The Renault Traffic EV isn't just an innovative feat of automotive engineering, but it goes to show how batteries can and should be recycled and repurposed in vehicles.
