Hotel Ads Imitate Renaissance Masters

The Renaissance Hotels in Rome, taking advantage of its name, has put out an advertising campaign on the basis of Renaissance paintings. "The Birth of Venus", a work of art by Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli, is recreated by a model standing by a pool and been catered to by three assistants. In the original painting, Venus is flanked by zephyrs and the goddess of the seasons Horae. In the other ad, an attempt is made to create a modern resemblance to Da Vinci's "Last Supper" with two tables instead of the one table in Da Vinci's masterpiece.
