Boldly Colored Remote Dwellings

Felipe Assadi Arquitectos Builds an Adorable Gem in Chile

Local practice Felipe Assadi Arquitectos executes the design and construction of a remote dwelling that occupies a plot in the San José de Maipo commune in Chile. The location is characterized by a lush and mountainous landscape and is low in density. Therefore, privacy is a key property of this house, which is appropriately dubbed 'Casa La Roja' or 'The Red House.'

Due to the escapist location, the houses in the vicinity do not have an established "visual contact between them." To counter this, Felipe Assadi Arquitectos chooses a bold and vibrant approach for the remote dwelling. The boxy house enjoys a noticeable red nuance and black detailing for the roof and the window frames. As a result, the structure poses an agreeable contrast to its lush green surroundings.
