Aluminium-Inspired Homes

The 'Red Rock House' Inspires You to Reconnect with Nature

Occupying a 16 acre site in the Berkshires in the United States, architecture and design company Anmahian Winton Architects has created 'Red Rock House,' a single family home that features a main house with one bedroom and a guesthouse alongside the main living quarters. As the building is located on a steep hill, the architects have designed a 200 foot long wall made of board-formed concrete to provide a level and even space for the construction of a garden and the two living quarters.

Occupying 6,400 square foot, the exterior of the main house is steel-framed, featuring narrow wooden boards and aluminium sections used as detailing, that line the remainder of the exterior. There is a long projecting deck that is immersed in the trees that are next to the structure, made with the intention of reconnecting with nature.
