Seating From Recycled Newspapers

The '334' Bench

If you care about the environment and recycling but find it hard to part with your newspapers, the ‘334’ bench might be a good furniture idea for you.

The ‘334’ bench by Oscar Lhermitte is constructed with three parallel metal bars and old newspapers that are folded and stacked next to each other. And as the name suggests, it takes exactly 334 newspapers to make this bench.

Surprisingly, the ‘334’ bench has a very solid build and can easily support 5 people. Best of all, the construction of the bench only costs 5 pounds.

The unique bench is part of the "X days project" series by Mr. Lhermitte, who is a product design student at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.
