M&S Food is Launching Recyclable Coffee Cups

Takeaway coffee cups are notoriously difficult to recycle, so these recyclable coffee cups have been announced by M&S Food in the UK as a way to help change this.

The coffee cups are crafted with a 100% paper construction that's plastic-free to allow for easy recycling after it has been used. The cups will be making their debut at M&S Cafe locations, Marketplaces in Foodhalls, vended coffee points and more, which will be rolling out in the coming months. The packaging will result in 20-million units of plastic packaging being diverted from the landfill each year.

Managing Director at M&S Food Alex Freudmann spoke on the recyclable coffee cups launch saying, "With one in every two of us visiting a coffee shop several times a week the long-lasting damage coffee cups can have on the planet without being properly recycled is huge. That’s why we were determined to bring a sustainable alternative to what’s out there today, and we’re proud to offer customers the first fully recyclable coffee cup on the high street."
