Brazilian Rainforest Houses

Studio MK27 Designs Caza Azul, Located in São Paulo

Mindfulness of landscape and climate conditions were the main factors that dictated the design of this beautiful and lush rainforest house. Dubbed 'Caza Azul,' this property combines a concrete home that is raised on pilotis and a wooden deck that extends underneath the building, as well as beyond it.

The rainforest house was designed by local architecture firm Studio MK27. It spans 400 square meters and it is located in "the environmental preservation area of Serra do Guararu in the Atlantic Forest." Much like the residential volume, the wooden deck is also lifted from the ground and the architects opted-in for this to "protect the pavement from moisture and, at the same time, integrate with the existing vegetation."
