In honor of the Waterman Arts Centre's Totall Thames festival in London and the theme of water, design firm Luzinterruptus created an installation that used condoms and blue water speak to how contraceptives are used to safeguard the essence of life by creating a literal barrier. The materials also replicated the aesthetic of falling rain once each piece was hung from the ceilings.
The installation features dozens upon dozens of condoms filled with dyed blue water draped from the ceiling of a room at various levels. At first glance the rain drop art pieces don't look like condoms at all as the large amount of blue water inside has elongated the shape into a teardrop from. It is only at closer inspection does the viewer realize the drops are made from a rubber contraceptive casing that alludes themes of intimacy, procreation and sensuality.
