'Raheem' is an NGO Dedicated to Positively Supporting the Community

'Raheem' is a nonprofit NGO based in Oakland, California. Originally founded in 2017 as a means of reporting police officers online who needed to be held accountable, Raheem has evolved in 2021 to become an online community safety-focused alternative to police services.

The startup application partners with registered organizations, community organizations, crisis teams, and abolitionists to build a United States-wide network of response operators. The key differential between these Raheem operators and police is that Raheem aims to provide individuals in a crisis with care instead of force and potential violence.

Raheem is run by a team of mostly Black and Brown POCs who are experts in policy, research, and data science. With this expertise, the app intends on creating a more positive society through change and reform.
