Website-Inspired Tapestries

Web-Based Artist Rafael Rozendaal Brings His Digital Creations to Life

Rafael Rozendaal might be better known for his interactive digital art, but he has decided to leap out of the online space and into the physical world with a gallery show inspired by his original works. He has created a series of tapestries that are inspired by abstract browsers. Full of bright colors and geometric patterns, it's easy to see the digital influence.

Based in New York City, Rafael Rozendaal specifically pulled inspiration for a Chrome extension he created appropriately dubbed Abstract Browser. Fast Co Design writes, "The plugin maintains the structure of a web page, but replaces the content with ten colors pulled from a preset palette." His favorite images created by this plugin are what made the cut to be produced in tapestry form.
