Rachel Lee Hovnanian Challenges Digital Dependency with Sugary Cereals

In SoHo there is a pop-up exhibition by Rachel Lee Hovnanian that allows you to explore your obsession with technology with cereal. Instant Gratification: A Cereal Bar Pop-Up is currently on display at Lelia Heller Gallery in New York. In addition to giving out free breakfast cereals and Wifi, Instant Gratification also asks visitors to examine how their relationships are affected by a dependence on digital technologies.

The temporary Rachel Lee Hovnanian exhibit also offers a space for people to relax with their cold cereal while contemplating the role of technology in their lives. By linking sugary breakfast foods with other cultural addictions, the artist challenges people to critically think about the effect convenient technologies like smartphones, tablets and apps have on them.
