Quirky NBA Athlete Portraits

Artist Rachel Glaser Holds an Exhibit in Honor of the Playoffs

There are tons of portraits of NBA stars but nothing like the ones envisioned by Rachel Glaser, an artist based in Northampton, Massachusetts, who studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. Enamored with professional basketball athletes since the age of 14, especially with Dennis Rodman and his wildly dyed hair, Rachel Glaser decided to channel this passion in another way other than becoming a road groupie.

Since then, Rachel Glaser has been bombarded by commissions by fellow fans. A timely exhibition is happening this Saturday in honor of the NBA playoffs. Rachel Glaser will be showing most of her Triple Overtime collection at Primetime art space in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. It is comprised of surreal situations of sleep walking Yao Ming as well as more standard renditions of LeBron James.
