I think it may be safe to say that the future of carpet will be an interactive one after seeing the QR carpet. The QR carpet was designed by Harc Lee and was inspired by -- you guessed it -- QR codes!
Lee's carpet is not exactly able to be scanned, but he did design an accompanying 18x18 floor tile that could be. The floor tile is designed for use in major public places like malls and airports. Lee envisions the floor tile QR code used to give information in museums, directions in confusing places (airports) and enhanced entertainment in theaters and sports stadiums. As more and more people start to buy smartphones so do more and more marketers see the power of QR codes. I wouldn't be shocked to see Lee's QR carpet in homes and offices within the next couple of years.
