Space-Saving Cycle Storage

Pull-Out Bike Racks Only Occupy the Sidewalk When They're in Use

Of course cities and businesses want to accommodate their cyclist consumers, but this concept for a pull-out bike rack is really the way to go about it. Pedestrians like a clear shop entryway for an approach that's not physically awkward, and these bicycle locking mechanisms actually tuck away when they're not needed.

This idea by Hong Sung Min, Lee Jong Pil Kim Du Su and Jern Jae Yang frees up sidewalk space by embedding the bicycle rack into the exterior wall of a building. Circular capsules with minimal depth house the entirety of the apparatus, which can be accessed by a simple wrist twist and a tug. Hook the Wall-Hanger Bike Rack over the handlebars of your two-wheeler to keep it secure while you're inside, and simply retract it when it's time to ride.
