You may have heard of China’s longtime love affair with their comfortable pajamas. It’s a passion so strong that you can often see the Chinese wearing their beloved printed cotton sets to the grocery store, walking the dog or riding a bike.
As a country with a massive population, there seems to be no social code of dress among citizens. It is not unusual to see a high-heeled fashionista walking next to a MIP (or Man in Pajamas, as the blog Mad About Shanghai describes them.)
However, the fun may be over for the Rixin district of Shanghai, as the local government is pressuring its citizens to stop the practice of wearing PJs outdoors altogether. One official labeled it as a type of "visual pollution."
I think the real concern should be what kind of pollution they are bringing back to their beds after parading around town in a set of these threads!
