Of course, that is until you learn there are some prisons out there that are watching shows from Tribeca Films, founded by Robert De Niro, which is best known for its glamorous annual film festival in New York.
Instated by Virgilio "Vee" Bravo, Tribeca’s VP of Education, the prison movie screenings happen twice a month. They help to keep inmates, some of whom are serving life sentences, stay connected with the real world. More than that, however, Bravo says, "I thought of prison audiences as a vital stakeholder group in the community." It's interesting to see how inmates can still have an impact in society.
