The One-of-a-Kind Price Charles Chairs by Peter Shire

These one-of-a-kind Prince Charles Chairs by Peter Shire were auctioned in Chicago at the Richard Wright Modern Design Auction. Wright is the premier auction house specializing in modern and contemporary design. The painted walnut, enameled steel and fiberglass chairs are a creative play on the celebrated 1950s iconic Eiffel plastic side chairs by the Eames brothers.

This Prince Charles Chairs by Peter Shire were hand-painted by the artist and ensures that no two chairs are alike. There were less than twenty available for purchase at the auction. The underside of the chairs is signed, "P Shire 2009 Colorati," and were manufactured by Modernica in Los Angeles. The chairs were estimated to sell for between $2,000–3,000.
