The Samsung Powerbot VR9000 Deftly Avoids Obstacles

The Samsung Powerbot VR9000 really, really sucks. But that's a good thing because we're talking about a vacuum cleaner here, and a robotic one no less. This product is Samsung's answer to the Roomba iRobot and Dyson Eye 360 among other competitors. The VR9000 is adept at avoiding obstacles, and is claimed to offer up to 60 times better suction than regular vacuum cleaners.

This Samsung offering has a special FullView Sensor that scans for blind spots and informs the vacuum cleaner to avoid bumping into obstacles like chair and table legs. Its wheels measure 10.5 cm in diameter, while the body has a 1.5 cm clearance that should be more than enough to get it over minor hurdles like door frames and cables.

The Samsung Powerbot VR9000 is primarily aimed at the European market. Samsung has neither announced how much the product will cost nor when it will be available for purchase.
