The E-QBO Power Cube Will Brighten Spaces and Charge Electronics

Italian design firm T°RED has collaborated with Ricerca Sistema Energetico, which is an energy research institution, to create the e-QBO power cube.

This customizable cube uses the sun's energy to provide power in public spaces. The cube is equipped with panels that soak up the sunlight and store it within its battery packs. Anyone can use the cube to charge up their electronics and the cube also has WiFi.

The cube is made out of wood and steel and contains LED and panels on its exterior. While public charging systems aren't new, this solar-powered cube is different. It incorporates the common space and doubles as public seating. This installation also serves as a city art piece and allows people to recognize and remember certain parts of the city by where the cube is.
