Functional Post-Apocalyptic Fashion

The Apocalypse Project Imagines Fashion After Great Tragedy

Television has done a pretty good job of showing us what a post-apocalyptic life would be like. There would be great strife, hardship, in-fighting and famine, but the real question is what would the fashion look like?

The Apocalypse Project by Catherine Young sheds some light on this question with these outlandish, yet strangely functional clothing pieces. These fashions embody the post-apocalyptic theme because they are not only stylish but also serve a purpose.

There are skirts made from candy wrappers (for when real fabric becomes far too expensive for regular use), a bubble suit featuring wireless communication and oxygen filtration and even a hazmat suit with a gas mask. The designs are odd by normal standards but these suits aren't meant for regular use anyway.
