The Venus is an ingenious contraption that is essentially an electric agitator that converts any old bucket into a portable washing machine. The device can be powered by regular household current, and simply has to be attached onto one side of a 20-liter or larger bucket. All you have to do is add water and detergent before flipping the power switch, adding a few items of clothing at a time. Up to 2.5 kg of clothes can be washed in one cycle, which lasts around five minutes.
The Venus portable washing machine contraption was created by Indian inventor Piyush Agarwalla, who rightly believes it could be tremendously useful in developing countries where people either can't afford washing machines or don't have the room or plumbing to maintain one.
