Dreadnort Boats has moved beyond its typical arena of top-quality boats and watercraft with the advent of a portable pod whose futuristic appearance and innovative design makes it viable for a wide array of applications ranging from glamping spaces to remote offices and tsunami shelters.

The New Zealand-based company initially begin working on the predecessor of this project with the aim of coming up with a tsunami shelter that could also be transported on land and water. After various iterations, this portable pod was created. The structure has enough room to accommodate a dozen people who can enter and leave via a gull-wing door that includes fold-out steps. It can be plugged into electrical grids but also features its own solar panels, not to mention a 350-watt inverters to power electronic gadgets. Marine-grade aluminum plates and durable glass windows ensure that the structure is safe to dwell in .
