Artist Zhi-Yun Zhang created a series of illustrations that mash up famous cartoon characters with pop icons.
Zhang noticed that in every entertaining industry there are features and collaborations so he wanted to bring two sectors together. He tried to match the pop icons to there cartoon counterparts.
The choice of character to pop icons is really on target. One example is the artist's use of Patrick from Spongebob and Rick Ross to create (Pat)Rick Ross. We see many of the most famous musicians in these illustrations including Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Drake, Frank Ocean, Bruno Mars, DJ Khaled and more.
