Norway-based architecture and design studio JVA has created a house called the Polite House, located in a residential neighborhood in the city of Havstein in Trondheim, Norway. Inspired by being in a neighborhood with structures that have different architectural expressions, the house is extremely modest and down to earth. The single family home overlooks the Fjord and the city of Trondheim.
The overall structure of the two story house is geometric and angular, so as to enhance the panoramic views of the hill below. The house stands out modestly through its angular structure and minimalist design. The minimalist design is also seen from the interiors with wooden beams and pillars that support the inner structure, the wide expansive spaces coupled with large window panels that layer the white walls. The increased interior spaces that are fitted with wooden accents provide a level of comfort and serenity.
