Roaming around in the dark looking for a light seems like the most counter-intuitive activity to do in the middle of night, which is where the Pod Lamp comes in handy.
Designed by Ashleigh Stephens, the Pod Lamp is a simple wooden light stand that can be clamped down to flat surfaces. Despite its rustic design though, the pod lights -- which look like miniature lanterns with an illuminating circular hole at the base where the light bulb can shine through -- is hooked on to protruding hooks from the main stand.
Once removed, the pods can be used as a miniature flashlight, with each pod no bigger than the size of your palm. The detachable features ensures that even in the pitch black, feeling and rustling around for your phone or a torch light becomes redundant when the bedside stand remains a permanent fixture.
