PlopEgg is a peculiar and eye-catching performance art piece performed by Swiss artist Milo Moire. During the Art Cologne fair in Germany, Moire ‘gave birth’ to a painting by squeezing paint-filled eggs out of her vagina and onto a blank canvas. The different colored eggs ‘plopped’ onto to the canvas, splashing paint all over it to create one of the most absurd pieces of abstract art out there.
Moire created the piece in full public view right outside the Art Cologne fair in Germany. Unsuspecting passersby were subjected to (or treated to) the sight of a nude woman standing on a raised platform, laboring in the cold and ‘laying’ eggs by squeezing them out of her vaginal canal.
At the end of the performance, Moire descended from her platform to fold and smooth the canvas, before unfolding it to reveal a brightly colored, symmetric piece of abstract art.
According to Moire, the PlopEgg painting "releases a loose chain of thoughts – about the creation fear, the symbolic strength of the casual and the creative power of the femininity."
