The Play Pot Restaurant is Inspired by Street Venders

Designed by the Lim Tae Hee Design Studio, the Play Pot Restaurant draws inspiration from the colorful tents where street venders dish out their goods. Bringing the streets indoors, the striped canopies have been flipped upside-down and strung along the ceiling of this contemporary eatery.

The Play Pot Restaurant is a boonsik shop -- a place that sells inexpensive Korean snacks -- and the decor reflects the food's comforting personality. Concrete floors and plywood counters add a homey vibe to this inviting, fast food-like concept. The striped yellow tarp adds a warm glow throughout the space, creating a cozy atmosphere to enjoy delicious Korean dishes. The Play Pot Restaurant is certainly more upscale than your typical boonsik shops, with a decor that goes beyond plastic chairs and hanging lights.

Full of whimsical details and eye-catching aesthetics, this contemporary snack cafe is brimming in urban charm.
