These Unconventional Dresses are Made from Plastic Fingernails

Design student Anna Goswami recently created a series of mod dresses that are made entirely from plastic fingernails. In recent years, many designers have begun experimenting with different types of materials and new design processes, such as 3D printing. However, by repurposing plastic fingernails, Goswami has managed to create stunning garments that are truly one of a kind.

The London-based student designed a total of three dresses, each of which are inspired by the mod designs of the 1960s. The stylish dresses range from floor-length gowns to shorter knee-grazing dresses. Using plastic fingernails as a form of color and texture, each dress depicts a graphic print of a woman’s face. From far away, the dresses resemble a form of colorful pop art.

While fake fingernails may not seem like an obvious choice of material, Goswami’s creations are both fashionable and extremely artistic.
