Ballooned Travelling Abodes

Jonathan Trapp Built the Pixar 'Up' Flying House to Travel in Mexico

In 2009 the Pixar 'Up' flying house marveled old and young viewers with its captivating display of a home being carted around by thousands of colorful balloons.

Jonathan Trapp from North Carolina was so inspired by Carl's crafty modification that he decided to replicate the design. He made a house to look like the humble abode, which the grumpy but highly lovable old man refused to leave. He then attached a cluster of balloons and took flight for the International Balloon Festival that was held in Leon, Mexico.

Jonathan is no stranger to exploring the skies using hot air and latex as he previously traveled across the English Channel using balloons. The Pixar 'Up' flying house has been attempted once before for National Geographic.
