The Eiffel Tower Will Glow in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Starting in October, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This marks the 22nd year that the city has partnered with the Pink October Campaign. The campaign was kicked off with an unveiling event in Paris in which the city pledged its support to find a cure for the most deadly cancer for women.

Organizers said that lighting the landmark tower in pink was more than just a symbol, but instead a "sign of victory over the illness." Apart from illuminating the tower, an information stall will be set up at Trocadero providing additional information about the illness as well as preventative measures.
