The irony of the Information Age is that the quality of communication may be deteriorating. The Pillow Talk Table has been designed to try and take back the good old-fashioned act of passing notes, inviting housemates, family members and couples to engage in intimate indirect conversations.
Zach Schlossberg created this retro-style side table with walnut wood, MDF panels, plastic and lacquer, accessorizing it with an LED light, a metal switch and a 9 Volt battery for power. A low cubby in the coffee table holds a cushion that can be taken out and sat upon for comfort. People sitting alongside the Pillow Talk Table can write messages to one another on scraps of paper, illuminating the little red bulb when a new note is available for a read and response.
