Compact Photosynthesis Systems

This Photosynthesis Unit Generates Hydrogen From Water

A group of researchers working out of the Julich Research Centre's Institute of Energy and Climate Research have developed a compact and high-tech photosynthesis unit that is designed to be capable of functioning in a completely self-contained manner.

This artificial photosynthesis system, which effectively uses solar energy to generate hydrogen, is constructed from easily available and affordable materials. Moreover, the unit is extremely compact, with multiple units able to be connected together in order to create surprisingly powerful photosynthesis systems.

These photosynthesis units still have room for optimization, but ultimately offer a lot of promise as an eco-friendly and efficient way to generate hydrogen by taking advantage of well known scientific principles that have stood the test of time.
