Willcom, a Japanese handset maker, has decided that its best way to compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung in the cellphone race was not to outperform them in terms of technology, but outdo them by way of gimmickry as with the latest Phone Strap 2. Touted as the smallest and lightest handset in the world, the Phone Strap 2 looks like a toy.
No more than two inches tall, the Phone Strap 2 is basically the same size as a box of Tic Tacs. To accommodate this radically small size, it boasts a ultra-compact one-inch display and a retractable antenna. A limited edition of 12,000 units will be available towards the end of March.
