Circular Maze Pavilions

'Pezo von Ellrichshausen' is a Chilean architecture firm that's comprised of designers Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen. In time for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2016, the company created the 'Vara Pavilion.'

Using different cylinder rooms that are all connected with a series of doors, the end result is a made-made maze that welcomes attendees of the Biennale to get lost. The goal for Pezo von Ellrichshausen was to create an experience that blurred the boundaries of the interior and exterior, by implementing the natural surroundings within the constructed walls. With this, the Vara Pavilion creates a strange sensory experience for those who enter it as they enter through different doorways yet are still where they were before. The building uses steel, concrete and concise measurements, however it's reported that Pezo von Ellrichshausen prefers for the building to be experienced rather than described.
