Loosely Tailored Runway Looks

The Peter Som Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection

Inspired by "Brooke Astor meets Courtney Love," according to the designer, the Peter Som Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection is the perfect combination of uptown chic and downtown cool. Som gives his models street style-worthy edge with colored streaks in their hair, mint nail polish, bright eye shadow and metallic-strapped shoes; however, none of this takes any attention away from the clothes themselves.

Going for a more relaxed and loose feel on his traditional tailored looks, Peter Som softens structured pieces such as jackets, trousers and dresses with lots of ruching, feminine patterns, loose fits, sugary-sweet colors and lace throughout. He also features his exciting new denim collaboration with Earnest Sewn, which includes a pair of baggy, knee-length shorts in a floral print.
