Personal Airport Security Reservations

The Personal Security Pass Hopes to Eliminate Long Lines

Lengthy wait times and airports come hand-in-hand, which is why Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is attempting to streamline the process by introducing The Personal Security Pass pilot project, which is enabling individuals to reserve a time slot prior to going through security.

Time slots can be reserved through the airport's website or app starting from four days before a flight, to an hour before take off. An email confirmation will then be sent to the traveler, which comes with a QR code for airport employees to scan. Assuming that all the information is in order after the QR code has been scanned, individuals will be led to a designated security gate, which can accommodate 30 passengers every 15 minutes.

If the pilot project demonstrates efficient results, the Personal Security Pass can be rolled out for company-wide use.
