Cheng-Tsung Feng's Pedal Lock Thwarts Thieves in Two Ways

The Pedal Lock shows that not everything has to be so cut and dry. A pedal may serve a specific purpose, but that doesn't mean it can't be utilized for another. By giving it a dual function, the creators of the Pedal Lock eliminate the need for extra bicycle accessories in addition to broadly inspiring people to look at their possessions with new eyes.

Conceived by Taiwan-based designer Cheng-Tsung Feng, the Pedal Lock recently received a Red Dot Award for design concept. On a more intuitive level, the Pedal Lock ensures that potential bike thieves are thwarted in the end. By destroying the Pedal Lock, they also destroy their chances of riding away scot-free.

The Pedal Lock secures both pedals on either side of a tire to prevent it from turning.
