peaceBOMB is a Brooklyn-based social enterprise that has been selling distinctive jewelry made by Lao artisans from salvaged shrapnel since 2010.
Previously featured on SocialBusiness.org, Peace Bomb has since expanded its line of upcycled jewelry to include changing fashion tastes and current events, like the London 2012 Olympics Games.
It is estimated that 75 million of the estimated 270 million cluster bombs dropped over Laos during the Vietnam War failed to detonate and in 2011 alone, peaceBOMB sales funded the clearing of an equivalent of 10,000 square meters of bomb-littered land. Article 22's peaceBOMB jewelry also benefits a central development fund in addition to funding cleanup initiatives.
