These Paper Images are Layered Together to Create Vivid Storyboards

Talented artist Cheong-ah Hwang has a knack for turning two-dimensional pieces of paper into three-dimensional paper images that beautifully tell the story of several classic fairytale fables.

These beautiful papercraft illustrations are designed by Hwang entirely by hand. The various sheets of texturized colored paper have been cut and shaped into characters, settings and fantastical beasts and then layered together to form a pop-up storybook illustration. Some of the images include illustrations from famous legends such as Little Red Riding Hood showcasing a three-dimensional wolf galloping away from Red in a white forest and Alice from Alice in Wonderland approaching the Caterpillar smoking a hookah.
