Deep-Fried Cheese Patties

KFC India Released a Deep-Fried Paneer Patty

KFC India's latest sandwich doesn't include its usual deep-fried chicken, but instead features a deep-fried paneer patty. The crispy outside and gooey centered burger is called the 'Paneer Zinger.'

Zinger is a style of KFC chicken batter that is essentially just a spicier version of the Extra Crispy's and is unfortunately not offered in North America. The same spicy battering is used to fry the paneer cheese. Paneer is the perfect cheese to use for the unique burger because it is a non-melting cheese that is popular in Indian and South Asian regions. The patty is meat-free and is only made up of two slices of paneer, a "spicy creamy sauce" and surrounded in battering, which is then deep fried.

This spicy burger is a great vegetarian take on the cheeseburger.
