The common saying 'in the palm of your hand' is taken to a whole new level with the palm planter. Not at all a real product, the palm planter creates a literal planter using the flesh of a palm. Carefully peeled away from the hand, the skin creates a pocket of sorts that holds soil and a little stem.
Titled Raíces Aladas (Winged Roots), the palm planter was created by Spanish artist David Cata. As Beautiful Decay perfectly puts it, "Raíces Aladas presents, challenges, and defies known limitations of the human body—and, ultimately, effectively proves its opportune abilities as a canvas for artistic expression." The palm planter comes on the heels of a similar project by the same artist.
