The Headdress Affair Benefit

If the flower hat Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the Sex and the City movie’s London premier is too eccentric for your fashion taste, wait until you see the overly outrageous floral headdresses in the "Tulips and Pansies: The Headdress Affair" collection.

Already in its seventh year, the annual benefit fashion show of Village Care featured a talented collaboration of New York’s finest florists and top fashion designers.  The likes of Betsey Johnson, Catherine Malandrino, Alvin Valley and Magda Berliner transformed heads of models into gardens of freshly picked floral fashion.  Despite the title of the event, it’s not just tulips and pansies that were found hanging on the tresses but also other fresh flowers and plants like roses, orchids, pencil cactus and a lot more that we usually see in wedding bouquets.

As much as it looks like a show for the preservation of mother nature, "Tulips and Pansies: The Headdress Affair" is actually a fund-raising event for Village Care’s HIV and AIDS patients.
