A New Oreo Double Creme Cookie Dough Flavor Just Dropped

Oreo is expanding its range in the U.K. with a new Oreo Double Creme Cookie Dough flavor, as well as new sharing packs.

A sort of meta cookie, the new flavor swaps out the traditional creme filling you'd find in a regular Oreo for a new cookie dough-flavored filling. The filling is also studded with additional cocoa pieces through the creme and sandwiched between two traditional Oreo biscuits.

In addition to the tasty new flavor, the brand is also launching new Oreo Crunchy Bites Mini Snack Bags filled with 36 little biscuits for on-the-go consumption. There's also the new 396-gram Oreo Sharing Tray pack, which is bigger in size and designed for easy sharing among big groups.

Trend Themes

  1. Meta Dessert Flavors — Layered snack concepts that reference their own core ingredients create novelty-driven launches with strong social sharing potential.
  2. Embedded Texture Fillings — Creme centers with cocoa pieces or mix-ins add sensory complexity that can differentiate familiar products in crowded confectionery aisles.
  3. Flexible Snack Formats — Mini bags and sharing trays reflect growing demand for portion variety across solo, mobile, and group consumption occasions.

Industry Implications

  1. Packaged Snacks — Brand extensions built around playful flavor reinterpretations can refresh legacy cookie portfolios without requiring entirely new product platforms.
  2. Confectionery Retail — Limited and novelty flavors provide retailers with high-visibility shelf stories that encourage impulse purchases and repeat store visits.
  3. Food Packaging — Occasion-specific pack sizes create room for packaging innovation around portability, portion control, and communal snacking experiences.
