AI Coffee Suggestions

Starbucks Will Use Artificial Intelligence to Give Order Recommendations

Starbucks is using artificial intelligence to offer you order suggestions. The Digital Flywheel program brings AI to your Starbucks Rewards account, which will consider order history, the current weather, time of day, day of the week and whether or not it is your birthday to determine your order suggestions.

This technology will also enable Starbucks customers to order in new ways. Starbucks Global Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ryan said the mobile application will start to incorporate "real-time triggers and push notifications to engage customers more deeply, building on the momentum that is generating the higher spend per members." This means Rewards members could order from a push notification or text message if there's a Starbucks store nearby.
