Over the last five years, Melanie Abrantes has created a variety of hand-turned products, as well as plenty of scrap materials in the process—but rather than letting these leftover resources go to waste, the sustainable designer set out to create a collection of limited-edition, one-of-a-kind vases. While many scrap materials are simply discarded, this vase collection spotlights odds and ends like cork and wood, which are united with thrifted glass vessels.
Naturally, each one of the vases is entirely unique, as well as functional. Quickly, the pieces from the Limited-Edition Marais Vase Collection are selling out; as it stands, Marais Vase #6 is the only design that's still available for sale, featuring a composition of pink marble cork, cherry hardwood and clear glass.
