Veggie-Based Vinos

The Omerto Tomato Wine as a Family's Secret Recipe

A Quebec winemaker has chosen to use a different fruit to make his wines, as the Omerto Tomato Wine uses the freshest of tomatoes to create a rather unusual vino.

Pascal Miche has been creating tomato wines based off a four-generation-old Belgian secret family recipe and he wants people to taste his tomato wine for themselves. Miche creates the wine at his home distillery and makes sure to add a touch of sugar to ensure that the wine measures in at a 10% alcohol level.

Omerto wines are made almost entirely out of subarctic yellow and black cherry tomatos, and has a golden coloring almost like white grape wine. The hints of honey in the wine make it a perfect pairing for most dishes and desserts, and Miche hopes to have his wines selling on the international market soon.
