The 'Olympic Athletes' Meals' Photoset Shocks

The 'Olympic Atheles' Meals' Photoset by Sarah Parker and Micheal Bodiam is an eye-opening glimpse into the fruitful nutritional life of being an internationally competitive athlete.

The design pair interprets nutritionist Dan Benardot's recommended meal guidelines for high-caliber athletes. Each serving is 2000 calories, which is essential for an each athlete's energy needs and each plate's contents are customized per type athlete. The types of athlete diets represented range from gymnasts to triathletes as different sports require different sustenance!

Seeing as 2000 calories-worth of grub is hard to fit on a single placemat, the photographers opted for a more cheeky, humorous look by shrinking each item down in size. What may seem to be a tiny meal actually packs a punch. Some of the featured items include chocolate milk, flax seeds, bagels and peanut butter, all foods that competitors must eat in order to compete optimally in the Olympic Games.
